COACHING

Our ICF certified coaches help clients develop more clarity of purpose in their thinking, actions, and language. We help leaders enhance their understanding of their management and leadership styles (including their conflict style, motivational values system, and learning style) for achieving more effective communications and optimal results.

We provide leadership, team, conflict coaching and coach the application of skills/concepts learned in our training programs.

We offer coaching both one-on-one, in small groups, and intact teams.

Leadership Coaching

Leadership Coaching

We use a whole-person, non-directive, client-centered approach.  We adhere to the International Coach Federation’s definition of coaching, which states, “coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”   We believe in the power of leveraging a client’s strengths, while at the same time understanding how individuals can get stuck in self-limiting and habitual patterns of thinking and behaving that are often unconscious, ineffective, and dissatisfying.

For people to grow, change and find new or alternative levels of performance and satisfaction, they must become more aware of their self-limiting thought and behavioral patterns.  Coaching is a process that starts with raising this self-awareness and then expanding one’s ability to identify and experiment with making alternative choices.  This is an emerging, highly creative, customized, and iterative learning process that grows from a safe and trusting coach-client relationship.

Team Coaching

Team Coaching

The power of Team Coaching derives from its unique combination of a real work context, real-time interventions, and a consistent drive toward real, meaningful results.

Real Work

Team coaching occurs during real meetings and work sessions where teams address real work issues, rather than in specially scheduled sessions focused on simulations, games, or exercises.

Real-Time
The coach observes the team, gathers meaningful and relevant team data, and engages in real-time interventions, called “moves.”

These moves can take the form of questions and/or feedback, and challenge team members to notice how they are operating at that moment and assess the impact of their behaviors and ways of working on their levels of effectiveness, cohesion, and performance. In response, the team makes specific adjustments—again, in real-time—to build on strengths or work on areas that need improvement.

Real Results

As teams focus on real work while receiving team coaching, they are highly motivated to make adjustments and improvements. When the team makes and sustains changes—it ultimately impacts the work products and results important to the team and the organization

There are a variety of ways in which team development professionals can work with client teams. We use a combination of the following based on the team needs:

Consulting:  Delivering assessments followed by recommendations and ongoing expert advisory support.

Facilitation:  Providing active leadership and guidance of a specified method, process, or tool.

Training: Delivering a learning curriculum through interactive instructional exercises.

Coaching: Delivering interventions in real-time as the team engages in its regular work activities.

We approach each client team engagement with the aim of producing real and sustainable improvements in team effectiveness, cohesion, and performance, and therefore use all four modalities interchangeably as warranted by the team’s specific context.

Conflict Coaching

Conflict Coaching

Conflict coaching is a process in which a coach helps a client to manage conflict more effectively. Like other alternative dispute resolution processes such as facilitation and mediation, conflict coaching gives a client high quality, third party support while keeping the client in control of decisions about their conflict situation.

Conflict coaching is a one-on-one process that develops the client’s conflict understanding, interaction strategies, and/or interaction skills and enhances the party’s perspective-taking.

Our conflict coaches are certified and experienced mediators and have received formal training in conflict communication and are committed to listening to others and helping others apply insights and skills to their conflicts.

Our conflict coaches have also completed ICF (International Coaching Federation) approved leadership coaching courses and adhere to the ICF coaching competencies and ethical coaching model.
